Vindonissa, located in what is today called Windisch, was an important Roman legion's camp. The ruins of the camp are open for viewing. The monastery church of Königsfelden, which is well known for its unique glass windows (that date back to the 14th century), is located in the middle of these ruins.
12 centuries of ceramic history, 7 centuries of glass production: the Ariana Museum documents both ceramic and glass production with over 20,000 exhibits from Switzerland, Europe, the Near East and Far East. The museum is located in a park on the banks of Lake Geneva.
100,000 snapshots are found inside, an eternally unchanging view outside. The Musée de l’Elysée in Lausanne presents the world of photography against the most beautiful of backdrops, a villa dating to the late 18th century with a view of Lake Geneva.
