The Grimsel area is a landscape of ancient stone and primeval forces. This pass has always been used to cross from North to South or vice-versa. It also constitutes the watershed between the North Sea and the Mediterranean and offers some spectacular hikes, ranging from easy strolls to challenging climbs on the vertical granite walls.
This hike through exquisite, charming countryside is at its best during the height of the grape harvest at Murtensee (Lake Murten), at the end of September / beginning of October.
