Hike Along the Suonen in the Baltschieder Valley

Small irrigation channels are alimented by glacier water. They have been in place since the 14th Century. Today there are well-groomed hiking trails which follow them.

Four narrow valleys run from the Bietschhorn (3934 m.a.sl.) in the Northern Valais Alps towards the Rhone Valley: the Joli Valley, the Gredetsch Valley, the Bietsch Valley and the Baltschieder Valley.
