Just a few houses away from where Lenin also lived in exile, Hugo Ball and his future wife, Emmy Hennings, started up a café-club for artists called the Cabaret Voltaire at Spiegelgasse 1.The Dadaists, as they called themselves, experimented with simultaneous and sound poems, collages and photomontages.
