Maienfeld in the Bündner Herrschaft inspired the poetess Johanna Spyri to write her novels about Heidi. The hiking trail takes you through the vineyards to Heidi Land. Mountain walkers climb to the Ochsenberg. Heidi's house, the goat stable, village shop and museum – all are based on Heidi's story.

The circular route follows the (mostly dry) bed of the Wildbach to the Bhutan Bridge and the Güetji viewing pulpit. Return to Susten along the other side of the trench.
The alpine route connecting Braunwald to Lake Oberblegi and down to Schwanden leads hikers through the weird rock formations of the moranes of the Glaernisch Range. Indeed, the deep-blue lake itself was created by moranes that dammed the melting waters. Rushing mountain streams and beautiful alpine flowers round off the picture.
