In 1939, the first cable car between Champéry and Planachaux was built by "Téléphérique Champéry-Planachaux AG", and it was not replaced until 1987 by a new construction.

The Hannigalpbahn will take you up to 2114 metres in just 8 minutes. From there, you have exquisite views of the Valais and Bernese mountain chain. You can also see the king of the mountains, the Matterhorn. The Hannigalp connects the Höhenweg trail to Saas-Fee with the Europaweg trail (to Zermatt) - both are among the most beautiful high alpine routes in Europe and are sections of the renowned Tour of Monte Rosa.
Close to the capital of the canton, Schwyz, and the place of pilgrimage Einsiedeln, in an idyllic, wide open alpine foothill landscape at 900 to 2200 metres, lie the holiday and sports destination of Hoch-Ybrig and the sunny villages of Ober- and Unteriberg.
