Nowhere else in Switzerland are there so many state-protected moorlands in such a small area as in Entlebuch: 44 highland moors, 61 bogs and 4 moor landscapes. The four- to five-day hiking tour takes place on Switzerland's first moorlands trail, inaugurated in 2004.
The challenging mountain tour leads all around Mittaghorn mountain and around Egginer. You will hike right through huge screes strewn with boulders and debris left behind when a glacier melted, alpine meadows and even an actual glacier. At 3,000 meters, Brittania hut is the highest point of the route. The views of the Saas mountain world are simply stunning. Fourthousand meter giants as far as the eye can reach.
The "Trans Swiss Trail" is the first long distance hiking trail fully developed for tourism which traverses Switzerland from North to South. The section through the Emmental valley does not lead across high mountains, but through a landscape with gently rolling hills, magnificent farms and flower-bedecked meadows. Overnight stays and breakfast, luggage transport and hiking maps are included in the package.
The Prince's castle high above Vaduz is not open for visitors, but you can walk right by it and through the forests of his estate and via the Grüscha path up to the ancient Walser settlement of Triesenberg. Every so often the light forest of beech trees opens up and provides a perfect frame for splendid views into the Rhine valley and onto the Alpstein massif on the Swiss side: a princely pleasure for every hiker.
