This Hands on Event starts with a guided tour through the national Swiss Woodcarving Museum. Well equipped with traditional woodcarving tools , you can carve, design and decorate your own wooden cow - a memorable piece of art. You will receive a personal certificate and a snack of Swiss wine and cheese.
As one of the few museums in Europe dedicated to this art form, the paper mill preserves historical techniques at an authentic site. These traditional techniques are still used here today to produce paper. At the end of the tour, participants are given the opportunity of making their own paper and trying their hands at printing.
The alphorn is the Swiss national instrument and symbol of dairy farming. The alphorn is crooked like a fir grown on a hillside it resembles. The wooden mouthpiece facilitates the generation of natural sounds, which are touching and heart-warming. Since 1910, the Swiss Yodeling Association has promoted the alphorn tradition in courses.
