The alphorn is the Swiss national instrument and symbol of dairy farming. The alphorn is crooked like a fir grown on a hillside it resembles. The wooden mouthpiece facilitates the generation of natural sounds, which are touching and heart-warming. Since 1910, the Swiss Yodeling Association has promoted the alphorn tradition in courses.
This Hands on Event starts with a guided tour through the national Swiss Woodcarving Museum. Well equipped with traditional woodcarving tools , you can carve, design and decorate your own wooden cow - a memorable piece of art. You will receive a personal certificate and a snack of Swiss wine and cheese.
GLATI was founded in the year of 2000 to make accountable the Associations of artisans of the region and their sector, especially concerning the promotion and information according to the Cantonal Law on craft industry of the 18th March 1986 as well as the respect of the convention on the brand "artigia-nato del Ticino" of December 2nd in 1991.
