Small, cosy retreat, far from the hustle and bustle of tourist centres; simple mattress camp for approx. 20 persons.

The oldest crossing between Valais and Bern with stunning views of Valais’ four-thousand metre peaks. The Lötschen Pass hut lies in a geologically-interesting region; entire packs of ibex can also frequently be encountered in the stark terrain. The rebuilt hut on the highest point at 2690m offers accommodation for 70 people in dormitories (reservations advantageous).

Set amid green meadows and woodland at 955 m on the northern side of the Passwang range in Solothurn canton, five minutes from the top station of the Reigoldswil Waterfall cable-car. Accommodation in dormitories with shower/WC, hot running water, blankets and pillows. The restaurant seats 50 and the terrace 60 people.

Gasthof zum Kreuz

This venerable building in the centre of the village of Marbach is under a preservation order. One of the catering partners of the Entlebuch Biosphere, the restaurant serves a wide range of regional products. With its cosy lounge and large dining room, the Kreuz is also perfect for family parties, banquets and seminars. It has some bedrooms and a dormitory. Closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Gasthof Ochsen Wölflinswil

Located in the village centre, this country inn is older than Switzerland – it was first documented prior to 1291. Currently with 12 Gault Millau points and multiple awards (Swiss Guild of Established Cooks, Jeunes Restaurateurs d'Europe, Guide Bleu, the Michelin Guide), its promise is to deliver delicious food and an authentic atmosphere, whether by candlelight in the dungeons or outside in the sunny garden.
