This interesting 12 km long walk between Estavannens and Montbovon uses information panels to give an insight into the daily work of foresters and farm workers here in the foothills of the Alps. The route takes you via Grandvillard and was created by local foresters and farmers. It takes four to five hours to walk the complete route.

Historic circular trail Escholzmatt

The village centre of Escholzmatt has been accepted onto the list of placescapes in Switzerland that are worthy of protection. Various cultural monuments, historical buildings and sacred memorials like the Mettlenplatz, the ‘Schybi’ stone and St. Anna’s Chapel. All these and more are detailed in the accompanying leaflet which can be obtained from the local tourist office.

The car-free Bettmeralp is part of a UNESCO World Heritage site and has three interesting trails (3.8 km, 10.2 km, 12.3 km) ranging from the easy to the demanding. Besides offering breathtaking views of some world famous, 4000-m-high peaks, these trails provide tips on stretching and toning, on how to improve your coordination and the right workout intensity.

Directly outside the IWC workshop windows the mighty Rhine flows, literally the "river of life" for IWC since its very earliest days. The manufacturer's first machines were driven by hydroelectric power taken directly from the river. The main factory building is still identical with the one originally built in 1875.
