The tour begins in Basel at the three-country-corner, Switzerland - Germany – France. Conscious of its tradition, wide open to the world and replete with contrasts, Basel is Switzerland’s art, music and architecture center. The tour travels alongside the Swiss-French border through the Laufen Valley to Delémont and via the Col des Rangiers to St-Ursanne.
The Eastern Switzerland Tour starts in Kreuzlingen, at the western end of Lake Constance. It skirts the lake up to St. Margrethen and then travels upwards to Heiden, Trogen and over the Ruppen Pass to Altstätten. On the Ruppen a restaurant beckons to tarry awhile and enjoy a repast.
