Trift Bridge is one of the most spectacular pedestrian suspension bridges of the Alps. It is 100 meters high and 170 meters long, and is poised above the region of the Trift Glacier. Even reaching the bridge through the ravine by cable car is an adventure.
Soldiers dying by the wayside, civilian refugees with their entire possessions and an army that gives up its weapons at the Swiss border: the Bourbaki-Panorama is simultaneously witness to the history of the media and of war in the 19th century.
High-altitude flowers from the Pyrenees, New Zealand, China, Nepal or Tibet also grow in Switzerland. In the botanical garden Alpinum Schatzalp, 3500 plant species and flower varieties from the world's high mountain regions bloom from June to September.
