The church, which was originally part of a Franciscan monastery, is home to Switzerland's most famous Renaissance fresco. It covers the whole wall of the nave. The "Passion and and Crucifixion of Christ" is defined by great expressiveness and vividness of the individual scenes.

Church by Mario Botta on Monte Tamaro

A singularly beautiful panorama of the pre-Alpine landscape, the lakes and the snow-capped Alps. Among the most prominent attraction is the church S. Maria degli Angeli, a project of the renowned architect Mario Botta. As a modern house of worship it has a distinctly innovative character.
