Café des Mines

Asphalt from the mines of Travers can be found on many of the world's roads, including Fifth Avenue in New York and Boulevard Haussmann in Paris. The mines were closed in 1986 but people can still visit them today, before heading to the Café des Mines to sample an unusual delicacy: ham cooked in hot asphalt.
