Bird Trail – from red kite to white throated dipper
The 5.6 kilometer-long bird trail stands courtesy of the Naturpark Diemtigtal – and presents a great attraction for nature lovers, schools, families and children around 10 years of age. The trail leads through numerous natural habitats of native birds, with a precise introduction to the different species presented on 12 information boards.
Start and finish of the round- path are in the vicinity of the Oey-Diemtigen railway station. Duration: 2hours, although the route can be shortened.
Back in 1999 the hurricane Lothar created extensive damage in Switzerland’s woodlands, with umpteen fallen trees and places stripped bear. Learn more about this vital form of life, the importance of woodlands and their significance for the environment in which we live as well as people. Start and finish of the path is by the Meniggrund parking lot (Strasse Zwischenflüh Post – Seebergsee). Length 2km, duration 1 1/4hrs. Two grill spots and a covered wooden platform are found along the way.
