La Balade de la Sorcière – The Witche's Walk

The witch allows us to uncover the secrets of the small medieval town of La Neuveville situated on the shores of Lake Biel. She lets walkers in on the hidden powers of medicinal plants, fragrances, trees, stones and water. Along twisted paths through vineyards to higher ground alongside the forest periphery and the vantage point, with views across lakes and mountains.

Everything to do with wine

At 205 acres, the largest vineyard on Lake Biel. In La Neuveville, a popular thing to do is to hire a wine cellar for a party. If you wish, the winemakers are present to tell your guests more about the wines of this region (Chasselas, Pinot noir, Chardonnay, Pinot gris, Pinot blanc). The Wine Festival always takes place on the second weekend in September, where countless visitors taste the wines of the region.

Plateau de Diesse

The way to the Plâteau de Diesse is not strewn with corpses, even if Dürrenmatt�s novel suggests otherwise.

High above Lake Bielersee, almost halfway up the imposing face of the Chasseral, lies the Plateau de Diesse. Though the area itself isn't really that well known, Swiss author Friedrich Dürrenmatt used it as the setting for his intriguing pot-boiler "The Judge and His Hangman".
