The Schattdorf mountains are the classic biker territory of the Urners. This magnificent tour in the region William Tell can hardly be surpassed as regards variety. In the Middle Ages, WIlliam Tell lived in Bürglen. He inspired the independence movement in the "Urschweiz", i.e., the original cantons of Switzerland.
The newly developed outdoor “Tatort Tell“ game leads through the mountain and lake landscapes of fabled URI - as big and small get closer to national heroes in a playful way - with modern production technology on a journey through Tell’s village of Bürglen, central Altdorf point and famous Tellsplatte on the lake of URI.
High above the Schächen Valley, between 1500 and 2000 m a.s.l., there is a fantastic mountain trail from Eggbergen via Rietlig up to the Klausen Pass. Grandiose vistas of the Urner Alps, the Reuss and Schächen valleys accompany you on the entire tour. Deep below, the historic Pass Road wends its way up to the Klausen Pass.
