Pleasant winter promenade on one of the most stunning viewing balconies high above the Central Plateau.

From the summit of the Petites Roches nearly 1,600 metres above sea level skiers enjoy views of the Mittelland and Lake Neuchâtel and also of the Alps looming on the horizon.

The Chasseron peak, over 1600 m high, is at the centre of this walk through the Jura of the Waadtland with its many wonderful views. However, at the starting point in La Combaz, something quite different is the centre of attention. Hordes of hungry guests come on a pilgrimage up here to the Pampa to taste the "Beignets au fromage"; a speciality that is obviously well-loved for miles around.

The mountain walk over Le Suchet links the high plateau of Ste-Croix with the Vallon de l'Orbe. This tour is part of the Jura Mountain Trail. Between the starting point in Ste-Croix and the destination in Vallorbe there is much of interest to discover. There are typical Jura landscapes and a whole range of spectacular vantage points right along the route.
