Moorland environment of national importance

At 9000 hectares, the second largest area of moorland in Switzerland. It extends from the Beatenberg in the canton of Bern to far into the Entlebuch region in the canton of Lucerne. The landscape is dominated by the contrast between the gently rolling moors and the precipitous limestone peaks (Hohgant, Schrattenfluh). Good starting points for visiting the area are Sörenberg, Habkern/Lombachalp or Kemmeribodenbad.
