A walk on the Jura Mountain Trail from La Combaz via the Chasseron to the sunshine terrace of Ste-Croix

The Chasseron peak, over 1600 m high, is at the centre of this walk through the Jura of the Waadtland with its many wonderful views. However, at the starting point in La Combaz, something quite different is the centre of attention. The Covatannaz Gorge: an Energy trail

The rugged Arnon Gorge between Vuiteboeuf and Ste-Croix in the Jurassic mountains of Vaud beckons not only with myriad adventures in pristine nature, but also with very potent energy sources. A map describes the way.

Seemingly hewn out of the rocks, the Gorge of Covatannaz extends from Vuiteboeuf through the wooded and steep flank of the Jura up to Ste-Croix. In this gorge, extremely high energy values are measured.

Museum of Music Boxes and Automatons

The clockmaker Antoine Favre-Salomon, a native of Geneva, invented a musical pocket watch in 1796. Since then he is considered to be the inventor of the music box, and Sainte-Croix became the world capital of mechanical music. Music automatons are still produced here.
