Description
From Basel Railway Station, ride via the Old Town along the Rhine River, and along Muttenz and Pratteln, right into the lush green countryside. In Liestal, the cantonal capital of Basel Land, we recommend a visit to the historic Old Town. From Ormalingen the route leads to the hills and along the gentle Jura slopes. The next stop is Rheinfelden, Switzerland’s oldest Zährringer town. A visit to the Marktgasse (Market Street) and the baroque town hall is well worth the time. The last stage of the route takes you along the Rhine River via Pratteln and Muttenz back to Basel. The route also touches Augusta Raurica, where the Romans lived and performed their plays.
