Thanks for your rating
Only the best get to compete in Zurich. And once entered in the prestigious start lists, they are determined to seize the opportunity to give it their best in front of the competent yet supporting Letzigrund audience.

An exclusive circle of athletes will compete in Zurich not only to win their event, but to claim the overall win of the IAAF Diamond League. The glory of the Diamond Trophy and a prize money of 40 000 US dollars represent an additional motivation to the athletes, who will be collecting points at IAAF Diamond League meetings throughout the season. In Zurich, the overall ranking (a ranking system similar to the Ski World Cup) 16 events will be decided.

Top performances and records
In Zurich, top performances are being achieved at minute intervals. Weltklasse Zürich has been the meeting to invite the most top athletes for the last twelve years. No wonder that records are on the cards almost routinely.

In the 80 years of the legendary Zurich meeting history, as many as 25 new world records have been set. Some of them were particularly prestigious, such as Armin Hary’s 100m run in 10.0 in 1960. The latest Letzigrund Stadium world record was set by Yelena Isinbayeva, who cleared 5.06m in the pole vault (2009).
