Basel is well known throughout Europe as a convention and congress venue. The Congress Center Basel lies beside Messeplatz in the heart of the city, and is famously easy to get to. The Old Town, the shopping districts, the museums with their world-famous collections, the river Rhine and the attractive parks can all be reached comfortably in minutes on foot or by public transport.

Immediately beside the Congress Center Basel is the Messezentrum Basel, with its large exhibition and event space of more than 160,000 m2.
