Intro

The museum is housed in the vaulted cellar of the Chasa Plaz in Sta. Maria. It is dedicated to the events of the First World War, in particular to the history of the war on the Stelvio and the Umbrail Pass.

During the First World War, soldiers from three armies faced each other on the Stelvio and Umbrail Pass, and traces of this can still be found here today. The exhibition provides background information about the "1914/18 border occupation" that is of great interest to military historians and was an important part of Switzerland's history. The main item in the exhibition is a large relief model showing the military installations on a scale of 1:10,000.
