The Montreux Jazz Festival invites music lovers to the 43rd edition of the event from July 3 – 18, 2009. As usual, the Montreux Jazz Festival tantalizes with a stellar line up of Jazz and Blues performers.
Afficionados of this style of music will be happy to know, that "three-concert" packages are available this year:

This year, the Festival go beyond Jazz and will set out to rock the world with such high class acts as:

Status Quo
One of rock's longest-running bands, Status Quo have been together for over 45 years, racking up over 60 chart hits in the UK, more than any other rock group in history. The phenomenally popular group return to Montreux following their 2004 sell-out concert. Status Quo had their first big hit in 1975 with Rockin’ All Over The World, originally composed and performed by Fogerty.

John Fogerty
On July 16, John Fogerty will share the stage with Status Quo who had their first big hit in 1975 with Rockin’ All Over The World, originally composed and performed by Fogerty. This will be the first time in 30 years that they will be reunited on stage. How could they not think of performing the song together? It would be a way of paying tribute to the composer and former band leader of Creedance Clearwater Revival.

Dave Matthews Band
In the United States Dave Matthews Band is one of the big rock bands. Founded in 1993 the band has rarely been touring in Europe. Montreux Jazz Festival has the honor to host their exclusive show in Switzerland this summer.

The very same night another great band will perform at Auditorium Stravinski : Steely Dan. Composed by Donald Fagen and Walter Becker, this duo evolved musically eversince the seventies.
