Up to six persons can sleep here on straw beds, comfortably wrapped in woollen blankets. They will cook their meals on an open hearth, just like in Heidi's time. Fresh mountain products such as cheese, butter and milk can be purchased at the Alpine Dairy. From Flumserberg -Tannenheim the Hut, Mulchenhütte, can be reached in 30 minutes by car. It is a starting point for wonderful hiking tours.
This is how people lived in the Alps a hundred and more years ago:
- no running water. Water had to be fetched at the well in front of the hut.
- no electric current. Light was provided by petrol lamps and the fire was in a pit.
- Toilet facilities are only near the Alpine Dairy, in the vicinity.
- Cooking on an open fire.
- Sleeping on straw.

Lush Alpine meadows, mountain brooks, dark fir trees and imposing mountains define the scenery. You get the impression that Heidi and her grandpa, Alpöhi, will come of their Alpine hut any time now.
