Descend on foot to Ciona and from there on to Carona (interesting parish church). The walk to the Alpe Vicania leads through the San Grato botanical gardens while the return route to Carona passes the Madonna d'Ongero.
The walk from Mount San Salvadore takes 2 hours and 30 minutes.
The tour can be continued from Alpe Vicania on a steep trail down to Morcote. Return to Lugano by boat (Morcote) or Post Bus (Carona).
