The northern shore of Lake Biel is intensively cultivated with vines. A walk along the vineyard trail from Biel to La Neuveville gives you a good idea of the work of the wine-grower. The steeply sloping vineyards also offer many wonderful views of the lake and the chain of the Alps. On the way, you may be tempted to visit the picturesque villages of Twann and Ligerz. The walk is rounded off with a visit to French-speaking La Neuveville.

Bus No. 11 takes you in just a few minutes from Biel/Bienne station to the starting point for the walk on the Tessenbergstrasse. Then a wide, flat path leads through the vineyards by Lake Biel towards the south-west. Because the path is always slightly elevated, you keep seeing wonderful views over the lake and St. Peter's Island. You go past the villages of Twann and Ligerz and finally reach the picturesque town of La Neuveville.
