Alpine Classic – Glacier Express
A journey through time with the “Orient
Express of the Alps”, from the village of Zermatt
at the foot of the Matterhorn to worldfamous
St. Moritz, offers an unforgettable
taste of old-fashioned luxury. With its Art
Deco ambience, the train revives the savoir-vivre of the 1930s, featuring Pullman carriages
and Gourmino restaurant coaches restored
to their original glory. Sink into the
deep leather armchairs, sip from a glass of
Champagne, and enjoy watching the spectacular
mountain scenery of the Valais and
Graubünden glide past. An exclusive gourmet
day trip includes an aperitif at your seat,
lunch in the nostalgic Gourmino restaurant,
expert travel commentary and historic guide
booklet.
The Bernina Express
The highest railway pass in the Alps. The journey from Chur through the Albula valley to the Upper Engadine reaches its highest point at the Bernina Hospiz (2,253 m), before descending to Tirano at 429 m, passing through extremes of climate and linking three cultures on its way.
Rhaetian Railways on a budget
"Great fun at low prices!" Using the Graubünden Holiday Pass, discover the area by rail, road and from the air. The 7-day pass gives 2 days of unlimited travel, and the 14-day pass 4 days, on the Rhaetian Railways, the post buses and local Engadine buses, plus reductions on many cable car networks, with half-price travel on the remaining 5 or 10 days.
