From Col du Pillon to the mid-station of the Tète aux Chamois. A spectacular ride whisks visitors from the 2525-meter Tète aux Chamois to the mountain station of Sex Rouge at 2965 meters above sea level. Large, modern cabins, encased by glass from floor to ceiling, tackle the 1600-meter distance by means of a suspension cable.
The futuristic alpine fortress perched on top of the Scex Rouge mountain is an extraordinary and ambitious creation by the Swiss architect Mario Botta. There is a self-service cafeteria and a "gastroramic" restaurant, uniting refined cuisine and breathtaking views of Mont Blanc, the Matterhorn and the Jungfrau.
Extraordinary, not least also because of the world’s highest toboggan run, the "Alpine Coaster": 1000 metres in length, a 520 degree loop, ten curves, six waves, three jumps and two bridges. At up to six metres above the ground, guests will experience a sensation of moving that is a class apart. A total of 30 toboggans glide silently down the mountain during the course of two minutes. The pilot determines the speed: 40 kilometres per hour is the maximum.
