The starting point of the aerial cable car is in the Sihl Valley, in the agglomeration area of Adliswil. The mountain station is located on Felsenegg, a vantage point, where the hiking trail to Üetliberg via the Albis Ridge starts. The Felseneggbahn is the only public aerial cableway in the Canton of Zürich.

This gondola, which was built by the renowned Von Roll company in Bern and had to be upgraded continuously to meet the latest requirements. Still its interior is largely in its original state from 1954. For the year 2008, the most comprehensive modernization in the history of LAF is envisaged. With the reconstruction the cableway will meet the latest standards in technology and it will also change its appearance decisively. The most striking changes passengers will notice are the new cabins.
