St. Moritz
St. Moritz

High above St. Moritz where the Säntis cable car ends - at almost 2,500 meters above sea level - is the starting point of the cable car going up to the Piz Nair.
From the village square you can get in three stages to the 3,057-meter Piz Nair. Two funicular trains take you via Chantarella to Corviglia, where a small cabin lift glides up to Piz Nair. The height difference is only 524 meters but at 2,524 meters the distance is unusually long. From the peak the mountain faces drop steeply, but with suitable boots, one can dare descending via the Val Suvretta. The trail is well built and marked. Because of its botanical riches the entire area is protected.
If you want to get an overview of the Upper Engadine, ride up to the Piz Nair – after having had a good look from the Muottas Muragl the day before.
