Getting Around 
The area around the "Rinderhütte" Mountain Station in the heart of the Torrent region became ever more popular from that year on: for hiking, enjoying nature, watching the sun set, staying over night at the Mountain Hut or as a starting point of mountain hikes to the Torrenthorn or via the Resti Pass to the Lötschen Valley – all of them absolute favorites with the visitors. During a summer vacation one even can take part in cheesemaking.
The Torrent Region can be reached with the large-cabin train in a few minutes from Leukerbad or by gondola from Flaschen – Albinen (only in the winter). Here you willl find the center of Leukerbad’s winter sport activities. Runs of all levels of difficulty cover the slopes and long snow-guaranteed descents lead to the valley.
The Torrent is a secret tip for visitors who want to experience the panorama of the Valaisian High Alps extending from the Weisshorn to Mont Blanc.

The cable cars glide on a steep ascent from the Thermal Spa Resort of Leukerbad to the peak of the Gemmi (separate side) and the Torrent Alp (2300m) The Torrent Train was inaugurated in 1971.
Access:
Leukerbad is reached by bus from the Leuk Train Station on the Lusanne – Brig railroad line. By car from the Rhone Valley to Leukerbad. The valley station of the Torrent cable car is located slightly above the Thermal Springs.
