This art nouveau building from the days of the great hotel pioneers is still one of Entlebuch’s great magnets. The rooms are furnished in a rustic style. While the Maag family of proprietors cultivates a warm and friendly atmosphere, the chef de cuisine treats guests to delicious regional and seasonal specialities.
Special distinction 1998

Distinguished «for the exemplary preservation of a historic hotel threatened to be destroyed, for which the population of the entire valley was mobilized».

The Flühli hotel and spa was constructed in three steps from 1897 to 1904. The initial L-shaped wooden building with its gabled roof in the center of the village was renovated later, between 1986 and 1988, under the leadership of the cantonal office for the protection of historic buildings. During that time, the facades were again painted in their original colors and the entire interior was restored, with the large central corridor, which lends the house its generous appearance, being kept intact. Particularly worth mentioning are the restaurant with its historic furniture, and the “green room” (dining room). The small garden adjacent to the wing of meeting halls, with its old chestnut trees, is yet another important feature. All recent parts of the building and interior fittings have been designed according to formal contemporary standards which still manage to blend in harmoniously with the original building.
