The journey along the almost 100-year-old Lötschberg line with its impressive viaducts and glorious views is a memorable experience.
So leave the new super-fast Lötschberg base tunnel to those in a hurry, and take a seat on the new Lötschberger train. Stopping en route is, needless to say, permitted – and wholeheartedly encouraged!

Lötschberger BLS RegioExpress

Bern - Thun - Kandersteg - Goppenstein - Brig

The comfortable new Lötschberger trains make the trip along this breathtaking railway route – one that is approaching its 100th anniversary – a real experience. You can enjoy panoramic views through the large windows: the spectacular Kander Viaduct, the horseshoe bends round the Felsenburg and the views of the Rhone Valley all offer unique experiences. The Lötschberger runs every hour from Spiez to Brig, with direct connections from/to Bern in the mornings, evenings and on Sundays. Along its route, the Lötschberger provides access to an extraordinarily beautiful excursion region. The Oeschinen lake near Kandersteg and the Lötschental are only two of the many insider's recommendations.

BLS RegioExpress

Bern - Emmental - Entlebuch - Lucerne

Of all the railway journeys in Switzerland, the route from Bern to Lucerne through the Emmental and Entlebuch is a definite insider's tip. Farmhouses with low roofs amidst a hilly landscape are typical features of the Emmental. The grazing cows on the lush green pastures provide the milk for the world-renowned Emmental cheese. Switzerland's first UNESCO biosphere reserve is crossed when one continues on through the Entlebuch region. Fascinating moorlands as well as a diversity of fauna and flora characterise the award-winning landscape. Stopping off en route is also well worthwhile: The "Panorama Route Express" Postbus awaits its passengers in Schüpfheim and takes them through the Lamm gorge to Sörenberg, and then further on to Giswil via the panorama road where further connections to Lucerne and Interlaken await. The BLS RegioExpress operates hourly. Trip duration approx. 1½ hours. Seat reservations are not possible.
