It is a "total work of art that reflects the harmonic unity of Le Corbusier's architecture, sculptures, paintings, furniture designs and his writings". Atypical for this work is the use of glass, steel and brightly painted plates instead of the otherwise typical Le Corbusier materials of stone and concrete. The construction on the eastern shore of Lake Zurich near the Zürichhorn was commissioned by art collector Heidi Weber in 1964. Today it houses the Heidi Weber Museum, in which the life and work of Le Corbusier is documented. There is also a collection of graphic works on view to the public on certain days.
