It is not entirely clear why Graubünden peach stones have been a Chur speciality for the past 120 years. Pastry chef Otto Hürsch-Müller is said to have been the inventor of this treat and for this reason the peach stones are also known as "original Hürsch".

These little marzipan treats are still being produced at this confectionery in Chur's Old Town next to the Obertor. There are also many other tasty treats for sale at the shop. These include the Alpine City cake, which is made from local ingredients such as Gran Alpin flour, eggs, Alpine butter and Chur Röteli.
