Intro

A harmonious sculpture, created with stones from various parts of the world bearing the name Switzerland.

Situated near the Marzilibähnli, this sculpture is reminiscent of a Japanese rock garden. Created by Bernese artist and blues musician George Steinmann (1992), the five rock groups symbolise the continents.

The stones actually come from places that bear the name of Switzerland. This is usually because these places resemble Switzerland in some way or are linked to Swiss immigrants. There are now yellow signs at these locations where the stones were removed that show the distance to Switzerland.

Enjoy the harmonious effect of the sculpture that has been arranged according to the “golden ratio”.
