Historic hotel of the year 1998 The Palazzo Salis was built as a simple residence in 1630 by Johann Baptist von Salis. Located in the village of Soglio in the alpine region of Bergell, this building has remained just about the same as it has been since a major transformation was undertaken in 1701. It has been a hotel since 1876 and is still a family owned business today. Different generations of the von Salis family have left their mark on the building, contributing to the rich interior decoration by adding furniture, paintings and frescoes. The historic building structure was preserved as much as possible during renovations, while simple contemporary elements of style were added. Particularly worth mentioning is the picturesque garden behind the palazzo, which is expertly maintained by the owners. It transforms the generous outdoor area into a baroque palazzo, which in turn manifests as the highlight of Soglio's excellently preserved overall appearance.
