Bonfol and Vendlincourt ponds
Overview
Intro
These idyllic ponds in the north-easternmost part of Ajoie between Bonfol and Vendlincourt provide a habitat for distinctive species of plants and small animals rarely found in Switzerland.
The protected carp ponds, created between 1751 and 1754 by order of the Bishop of Basel, are a popular destination for nature lovers. Good, waterproof footwear, binoculars and a field guide to plants, birds and amphibians will certainly be useful when you visit. There are three themed trails providing in-depth information about the forest, ponds, plants and wildlife.
