The world-famous mountain trio of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau is the crown- ing glory of a region packed with summer attractions. 500 km of footpaths lead through landscapes so special that in 2001 they were declared UNESCO World Heritage – the first such site in the Alps. Many spectacular summits can be reached easily by cable car or cog railway, while the villages of Grindelwald, Wengen, Mürren and Lauterbrunnen make scenic and memorable bases for a stay.
