Intro

The story of Heidi is told on display boards with pictures along the well-prepared Heidi Path, which offers a clear view of all the places Johanna Spyri described in her classic book.

The «Alpöhi» (Heidi's grandfather) will be expecting you at the Schwarzbüel Alp. The walking tour takes 60 to 90 minutes to complete. You can reach the Pardiel Mountain Station, the start and end point of the hiking loop, by taking the Pizol train from Bad Ragaz.

On the charming round walk from Pardiel, children face a challenge: finding Peter’s goats. Along the way there are lots of fun activities including an alpine call, the goat leap, the hammock forest and a barefoot trail through a children’s Kneipp (hydrotherapy) pool.

  • Altitude: about 1,600 m
  • Duration, walk only: approx. 1.5 hours
  • Duration, including activities: approx. 2.5 hours (or approx. 1 hour as far as Alp Schwarzbüel only and back to gondola top station)
The section of the path as far as Alp Schwarzbüel is accessible for pushchairs.

How to get there: on the 8-person gondola from Bad Ragaz to the Pardiel summit station. Top tip: ride up in one of the four special Heidi gondolas.
