Description

The hiking tour begins at Hotel "Alpenruhe". The "Alpenruhe" is reached by PostBus or car from the Kien Valley (Kiental). Follow the road up to Lake Tschingel. From here the Bear Trail (Bärenpfad) takes you to the Griesalp, which is crowned by the mountain inn "Golderli".

On the Griesalp the Wildwater Trail runs along the Gamchibach, a rushing brook, into the Griess Gorge (Griesschlucht). Alongside the gorge, the trail will take you in loops down towards Lake Tschingel. The trail traverses the roaring Pochten Fall and the Hexenkessel, a deep, seething “witch’s cauldron”.

In winter this tour can only be recommended for sure-footed hikers.
