Cross-country skiing is hip once again, thanks to the successes of Switzerland’s young Olympic gold medallist. In a landscpape reminiscent of northern Canada, the Vallee de Joux has 120 km of marked out and signposted pistes, with many opportunities to get away from it all and spend a few days on skis or snowshoes.
Whether you choose to speed along the shores of the lake, glide through the snow-blanketed Risoux forests or venture up the slopes towards Mollendruz, you’re guaranteed to find your very own cross-country ski heaven.
