Description

Not far from Glarus is the Klöntal Valley with Lake Klöntal (Klöntalersee). The ride continues over the Pragel Pass to the Muota Valley in Canton Schwyz. From here General Suworow’s Army fled to Glarus in 1799. The Muota Valley is famous for its weather frogs – indigenous, sensitive weather prognosticators – and for the 200-km-long karst cave system of the Hölloch.
The tour continues via Brunnen and alongside Lake Lucerne to Küssnacht and Lucerne

Among the architectural highlights is the futuristic Culture and Congress Center designed by the renowned French architect Jean Nouvel. Among the outstanding characteristics of the city is the covered medieval Chapel Bridge with its gable paintings. It is one of Europe’s oldest covered wooden bridges. The tour then travels from Lake Lucerne to the historic town of Sempach, located on Lake Sempach, and further on to Seetal, along the lakes Baldeggersee and Hallwilersee, passing the little known villages of Hochdorf, Schongau and Fahrwangen. From Seon the motorbikers roll over the Breitenberg to Gränichen into the Wynental Valley, and from Unterkulm over the Bööler Pass to Schöftland in the Suhren Valley.

The next stop on this tour is the medieval Old Town of Zofingen. Subsequently, the tour continues via Balsthal, Welschenrohr and across the Balmberg to Solothurn. Its Old Town is one of Switzerland’s most compact, featuring many Baroque highlights and French influences. The tour then travels via Moutier to Courfaivre, Delémont and to its final destination, Basel, located at the three-country-corner, where Switzerland, Germany and France meet.
