Mount Kronberg is accessed from Jakobsbad by aerial cableway if one comes from the south. In winter additional ski lifts operate at and around Mount Kronberg. There is also a ski run for a descent into the valley from the Kronberg to Gonten or Jakobsbad. From the Kronberg a wonderful hiking tour leads to Appenzell. On the other side, i.e. the Kronberg’s southern face, you will find the Schwägalp, the starting point to Mount Säntis.

Since the climb to the Kronberg is easy, it can also be hiked in winter (with snowshoes).

For several years now there has been a summer sledding course at the Kronberg’s valley station. In 2007 a fixed-rope park was opened there.
