The Plaine-Morte Glacier is five kilometers long and nearly two kilometers wide - Plaine-Morte is thus one of the Alps largest glacier plains. Aerial cable cars take visitors from Crans Montana up to the region of the glacier, which gives one a simply breathtaking view of the sun terrace of Crans Montana, the wide Rhône Valley and numerous mountain giants, ranging from Mont-Blanc to the Matterhorn.

Ski lifts and numerous prepared pistes offer winter sports fun also in the summer. The wide glacier plain is very popular amongst cross-country skiers, since it has hardly any crevasses. The alpine offerings are complemented by the 135 kilometer long network of hiking trails in the region surrounding Crans Montana.
