The Bouquetins Piste
Overview
Intro
The extensive Villars-Gryon-Diablerets winter sports arena offers connoisseurs and beginners a wide variety of slopes. One of the highlights for seasoned skiers is the "Bouquetins Black Piste" from the summit of the Grand Chamossaire down to Villars.
Ibex venture into the most impassable of terrain and they often also show up on the steep slopes of the Grand Chamossaire. On sunny winter days, they soak up the heat from the slopes. It is in their honour that the Direttissima to Villars was named the "Piste des Bouquetins" (ibex piste). This difficult course has a considerable gradient and requires skill. On the lower, less steep, section, you can savour the magnificent panorama of the Mont Blanc and the Dents du Midi.
