Aletschgebiet (Valais)
A 23-km-long ice block, up to 1.8 km wide at certain places -- this could be the quick description of the largest glacier of the Alps.
Bettmeralp (Valais)
Alongside the Aletsch Glacier, which with a length of 23km is the longest ice flow of the Alps, the path takes you from the Bettmerhorn to the Märjelensee (Lake Märjelen). Descending gently at first it then proceeds in big bends up stone stairs to the Rote Chumma.
Bettmeralp (Valais)
The Bettmeralp Trains welcome you in the Bettmerhorn's world of ice from mid-June to mid-October.
Engelberg (Central Switzerland)
Round and round it goes, the "Rotair" revolving aerial cable car, which brings visitors from midstation Stand to the Klein Titlis (3,020 m.a.s.l.).
Evolène / La Sage (Valais)
This walk is, in fact, a loop that both starts and finishes at the Hôtel du Col d'Hérens.
Grimselpass (Bernese Oberland)
The Oberaar Lake often contains ice floes which is not further surprising given that the water comes directly from the nearby glacier.
Jungfraujoch (Bernese Oberland)
From an altitude of 3,454 meters one can observe the most spectacular peaks of the Bernese Oberland, as well as glaciers as far as the eye can see.
Les Diablerets (Lake Geneva Region)
Glacier 3000 means gliding across the glacier on a dogsled, or taking a snowbus on a special track 3,000 metres above sea level, or cross-country skiing in summer... There are plenty of fun activities all year round!
Meiringen (Bernese Oberland)
The Glacier Path Steinalp on the Susten Pass takes visitors from a lively pass road to the high altitude of Steingletscher (Stone Glacier).
Oberwald (Valais)
A Nature Trail leaves the Hotel Glacier du Rhone in Gletsch on the Furkapass. A mere half-hour's walk includes information on flora, fauna, the dynamics of the ice flow, and glaciology.
